Safety Engineers Association, (SEA - India) is the first ever NEBOSH accredited centre in India since 2007.

Safety Engineers Association is a professional body, formed and registered under societies Act of India during the year 2001. The Association servers its 500 plus members from around the country and abroad who are practising safety professionals.

SEA (India) and Environment Health Engineering department of Sri Ramachandra University have joined hands for conducting the much sought after NEBOSH courses in India. Environment Health Engineering department of Sri Ramachandra University is pioneer organisation conducting Post Graduate courses in Occupational health and Industrial Hygiene.

SEA (India) acclaims that they will conduct the International General Certificate Course at highly competitive costs to benifit their members.

The International Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)

NEBOSH - The International Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health - is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity that was formed in 1979 as an independent examining board and awarding body NEBOSH now offers a comprehensive range of vocabulary-related qualifications designed to meet the health and safety training needs of all places of work in both the private and public sectors.

NEBOSH publishes syllabuses for courses in occupational safety and health of two main types: a professional Diploma level - The NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.

NEBOSH also offers specialist awards - The Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management, the Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management and the National Certificate in Construction Safety and Health.

NEBOSH sets and marks the examinations based on its syllabuses. The International Diploma is exmined in December and July each year and also requires the satisfactory completion of an assignment. For the International General Certificate. 'Standard' examinations are offered in March and September and 'local' examinations on any date required by accredited centers. NEBOSH done not offer courses but accredits centres (such as colleges and private training organisations) to offer programmes of study that prepare candidates for NEBOSH awards.

The NEBOSH advisory Commettiee includes nominees of the Institution of Occupational safety and Health (IOSH), bodies of Further and Higher Education, and private sector training organisations. Organisations that nominate independent members to the Advisory Committee include the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Employment National Training Organisation (ENTO), the Environment Agency (EA), the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), the Trade Union Congress (TUC), the International Federation of health and Safety Groups and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). It also includes a recent Diploma graduate representing the interests of NEBOSH candidates.

Strategis management of NEBOSH is overseen by a group of nine members of the Advisory Committee known as the Directors and Trustees, including at least two members nominated by Colleges of Further and Higher Education and at least two members nominated by private sector programme organisers. The Directors and Trustees always include the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Advisory Committee and by custom and practise, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee has always been the Chairman of the Directors and Trustees, thus ensuring effective co-ordination between the two.
