Dr M Surianarayanan, PhD., Principal Scientist, Chemical Engineering Department, Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai delivered the talk on "Safety in fire woks Industry".

Large number of SEA India members and invitees participated. The programme was followed by Lunch and presentation of Certificates to all the participants.

Factory Visit to Johnson Lifts & Escalators (P) Ltd, Chennai

Large number of SEA India members participated in the visit. The members were taken all round the various parts of the factory. The nature of activities, the mode of assembling the escalator and the best practices followed by them were explained.

The management of Johnson Lifts & Escalators made elaborate arrangements for the visit, Mr Milind M . Harshe, Project Manager & Mr G Varadharajan, Chief Safety Manager made the visit purposeful & knowledge sharing.

SEA India members unanimously expressed their satisfaction on visiting one of the rare type of industry in the region. SEA India thank the management for all the arrangements made and the hospitality shown to us.

12^th Anniversary of SEA

12^th Aniversary of SEA was held on Saturday, 6th July 2013 at Chennai.

Mr. Y. Inayama, Managing Director, Toshiba JSW Turbine & Generators (P) Ltd., Chennai delivered the keynote Address. Dr RK Elangovan, Director- in-charge, Regional Labor Institute (DGFASLI), Chennai delivered the special address on that occasion.

34^th Professional Development Programme Was held on Sunday, 18th May 2013 at USHA Fire Safety Training Hall, Chennai.Mr. Milind M Harshe, Project Manager, Escalator Plant, M/s. Johnson Lifts (P) Ltd., Oragadam delivered a talk on "Escalator Safety". Shri J. Manoj Kumar, Installations Manager (Lifts-CMRL) delivered the Technical talk on "Lifts Safety".
The meet was followed by High Tea and presentation of certificates to the participants.

FACTORY VISIT to Madras Atomic Power Station, Kalpakkam

Factory visit to Madras Atomic Power Station, Kalpakkam was arranged by SEA India on Saturday, 27th April 2013. Around 25 members participated in the visit. The members were taken all round the various parts of the factory, the nature of activities and the best safety practices followed by them were explained. The management of MAPS made elaborate arrangements for the visit and the visit was very useful for the members. SEA India thank the MAPS management for all the arrangements made and the hospitality.

33^rd Professional Development Programme Was held on Sunday, 20th jan 2013 at Chennai. Mr. D R Muralidharan, Freelance Trainer, M/S L P A Risk Management Systems, Hyderabad delivered the talk on, "Road Safety Management".
